Thank you for another successful season!

Wow! The 2024 season just flew by, and we are happy to report it was another amazing season! The board directors of the Friends of the Joseph Branch want to send a heartfelt “Thank you!” to all who made it possible:

  • First and foremost, the passengers – we so enjoy taking you for a ride on our scenic line and getting to know you. This train just has a way of making friends out of strangers!
  • The volunteer train crew and car hosts, operations and maintenance crew, and the ticket agents for making running this little excursion train business so successful and fun. We continually receive great comments from passengers, exclaiming about the friendly and highly competent volunteer staff, ranging from ticket agents to gift shop clerks to conductor and all on board the train.
  • Thank you to our catering companies, Urban Vine Catering from the Island City Market & Deli, Ten Depot Street, and Minam Motel, for once again earning high marks for the food served on the train.
  • Volunteers on the equipment maintenance crew gave the engine a shiny new paint job. It looks great, David and Sunday!
  • Wallowa Union Railroad track maintenance Jim Seifert and crew, who made further improvements to the track and kept us in compliance with the FRA.

We were able to make a healthy contribution to the Wallowa Union Railroad Authority for maintenance of the track.

Keep an eye on this website for news about the 2025 train schedule and consider giving a gift certificate for a ride on the Eagle Cap Excursion Train to the rail fan on your list!
