Train Season About to End

What a great season! It’s hard to believe we only have two more train rides before our 2025 season comes to an end! All of the credit goes to our amazing passengers, volunteers, track crew and board members. We are sold out for the next two rides, with the exception of an engine ride on the Minam Bonus, October 25.

We are still getting lots of inquiries, but if a ride doesn’t show up as having tickets available on the calendar within the online booking service, that means it is sold out. For both of these last trips, there is a waiting list in case of cancellations.

As soon as this season ends, we’ll begin developing our schedule for 2026 and will make the announcement in late January. Reservations for 2026 will be available after the schedule is announced. Please keep an eye on the website at the beginning of the year for news. Check the drop-down menu under the heading “Ride the Train” and click on “Trip Descriptions” or “Schedule” to see the available dates and ride details.

The Eagle Cap Excursion Train operates on the scenic stretch of the Wallowa Union Railroad (formerly known as the Joseph Branch), between Elgin and Minam, following the banks of the Grande Ronde and Wallowa rivers. We appreciate our partnership with the Wallowa Union Railroad Authority and are dedicated to keeping this railroad operational and providing opportunities for all to enjoy the scenery and the fun of riding the train.

A special Thank you goes to our business partners, Island City Market & Deli and Minam Store & Outfitters, the many other local businesses and services we use, the City of Elgin, and members of the Friends of the Joseph Branch for their continuing support.
