First posted March 25, 2020, updated April 29, 2020, and again May 17, 2020 – This is a very difficult time, and we hope everyone is listening to the guidance of public health authorities and taking all the necessary precautions to keep themselves and their communities safe. The health and wellbeing of the public is first and foremost, and we are closely monitoring the situation as it relates to the Eagle Cap Excursion Train. With this in mind, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the train rides previously scheduled for May, June, July and August, 2020.
At this time, we continue to plan for the eight rides scheduled in September and October. If the COVID-19 pandemic risk doesn’t improve, we may need to cancel additional trips, and will make every effort to make those decisions no less than 30 days in advance of each ride.
When we resume service, we will be implementing numerous safety measures, including allowing fewer passengers on each ride, altering seating arrangements and following social distancing guidelines. We will announce the safety protocols leading up to the season.
For trips that are cancelled, you may reschedule and use your tickets for a future ride on the Eagle Cap Excursion Train. If this is not possible, the amount of your ticket purchase will be refunded in the form it was received (such as a credit card refund).
Our operations and track crews are taking advantage of this down time to do maintenance work, make improvements and complete repairs to train equipment and track. We thank them for their work in preparing for the time we can be rolling down the track again.
